Ah! I'm back!! 

Been busy with too many stuffs over the last 3+ years, and hence not able to ramble a lot.

anyways, the latest and the greatest news is that I want to start sharing things again!!


was part of a panel on Startups - what should they do (for people who don't know me, I'm 2nd from left) and it was an interesting chat.  Met a lot of interesting people and had a connect with them. hope to be a part of the startup ecosystem sharing my 2 cents whenever possible

The Conflicts I have been thinking about the renewed fighting between the Tigers and the Srilankan Army and the unnecessary loss of civilian lives. This conflict made me read some more on other hotspots around the world and this is what I came up with 1. The Palestine 2. Srilanka 3. Kashmir 4. Ireland If we observe, we can see that the British were involved in all of the above problems.. They created Israel in 1948 and started [1]. They divided India/Paksistan and then left Kashmir independent [2]. They were ruling Srilanka and they didnt do anything about the ethnic problem [3] and [4] is their own backyard. I am not for armed struggle and not for dividing a country on ethnic lines,but the British could have done something better atleast in case of [1] and [3]. Let me conclude on an optimistic tone. 'LET THERE BE PEACE LEST THE WORLD GOES TO PIECES'
Wish u all a happy Independence Day.. just happened to see the advt of some programs telecast for independence day... have some doubts.. would somebody take pains to make these clear to this innocent fellow 1. what is the relation between independence and Namitha... 2. what is the relation between cine programs and the spirit of independence.. awaiting clarifications...
A date with Date, Time, Duration and Timezones Have you ever wondered, when debugging an issue in a globally distributed environment, if the events are out of sequence? Chances are that all of us would have seen it at least once in our professional career. All applications are required to deal with Date, Time and Duration. This is a very complex area, as the rules regarding time-keeping are not widely known and this causes tricky and funny (and sometimes critical ) issues. Adding to this is the additional complexity of Time zones (TZ) and the Daylight Savings! Phew! Let’s refresh our understanding of how Time zones are arrived at. Since a day is 24 hours long, the world may be split into 15 degree wide longitudinal slices (360 degrees/24 hours). Each slice represents one hour. But, life is not so simple. The International Date line creates an additional TZ and a few TZ’s differ by 30 mins /45 mins. If Greenwich (0th meridian) has the current local time as 00...
